Radford University charged Creosote with creating an interactive admissions solution that would help the university reach out from its rural Virginia location to connect with high school students throughout the state and beyond.
Interviews with students and faculty revealed a theme of individual transformation at this comprehensive public university. To focus on these individual journeys and share examples of how Radford can completely change the direction of one’s life, we introduced Radford’s academic strengths and opportunities through a series of selfie images, first-person captions and short video that illustrated how “This part of my life is called Radford.”
The approach has successfully attracted the attention of a generation that has grown up sharing their thoughts, stories and images online. In its first five months, the interactive viewbook app was downloaded 193 times by users from throughout the U.S. and 11 other countries.

Creosote Affects was the most winning agency in the country at the Higher Education Marketing Report Awards for 2013 and 2014.
In 2015, Creosote Affects was the third place winner, and in 2016, Creosote Affects tied for second place, taking home 26 total awards, including seven Golds and Best of Show.
