Creosote Affects Tabs Peter Mason to Lead Research

Creosote Affects would like to welcome Dr. Peter Mason as our new head of research. Peter will lead research activities for Creosote clients, with emphasis on comprehensive brand studies as well as demographic and consumer trends impacting the education industry.

With a Ph.D. in educational leadership and a career devoted to educational marketing, Peter brings a wide perspective on schools, branding and challenges and opportunities in the market. Most recently, Peter concluded his role as field marketing consultant for The Association of Boarding Schools’ North American Boarding Initiative, a five-year initiative that halted a consistent 12-year decline in domestic boarding enrollment. As part of this project, Peter has gained deep knowledge of the industry and its consumers, particularly through consulting on effective marketing strategies with member schools.

Before joining TABS, Peter spent a total of 11 years leading the respective marketing departments at two of the premier independent schools in the Northeast, The Governor’s Academy and Shore Country Day School.

In the past year, Peter has headed the research phase during a few of Creosote’s most recent partnerships, including Avery Coonley School, Louisiana Tech University and Old Trail School.

“Peter’s passion for education and expertise within the industry is a great asset for our clients; his talents only add to Creosote’s already strong team,” said Joe Cliber, Creosote principal.

“Having partnered with Creosote previously at multiple schools, I know the talent and enthusiasm that Joe and the team bring to the industry,” said Mason. “I’ve also seen firsthand how impactful their creative and strategies can be in the market. I’ve enjoyed helping a few of Creosote’s clients identify and develop consumer-focused strategies to enrich their unique communities, and now I can’t wait to add my contributions to all of Creosote’s partners.”
